Why do you move so differently than your teacher?

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=ptMHickAiVo

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=giTZLvuGirs

He's not perfect either, I see some disconnections in his movement here and there (although he's way better than I am), but at east he's got the general idea and is fairly competant with it...you are belly dancing for all practical purposes.

Not to give you a hard time or any thing grin.gif

It is so stupid to watch a clip of someone like Chen Yu and critique it with 'he's not perfect'. Who the fuck is perfect? Oh but at least he has the 'general' idea, and he's 'fairly' competent with it. wtf?

Rd's comment about Chen Yu is one of the most retarded things I have read on EF....
“The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion.”

This thread should be fun tongue.gif

OTOH RD is right as far as it goes. There is NO teacher in the world who has absolutely perfect movement. Thats just not possible.
Still, I wouldn't criticize Chen Yu, as he is certainly one of the top masters of Chen style. smiley.gif

Yusuf, its not like he's saying that he's better than him or that he is doing it wrong.
Its just totally impossible to have perfect practice. Also, there will always be haters out there.
Martial arts is funny because you get people who are so invested in how good said master is, that people sometimes lose sight of the fact that its not about how good that master is, its about how good you can be.
Besides, Royce would choke Chen Yu TFO grin.gif

Actually, I figure that RD probably just has a gripe with Mo ling and dissing his teacher is the easiest way to get at Mo.
Not nice, but certainly understandable. wink.gif

But I'll just say it is an art form

& one could ask why do students of CZK look different or CFK for that matter........

RD also just brought up the issue of why he is "open" in the single whip demo after it had already been discussed in the original 15 page thread.

Actually no, no gripe anymore. I was just board, and also in an oddball goofy mood because I could not sleep at whatever early morning AM. time that it was that I made the thread.

I actually Think Mo is an alright guy. I find his posts entertaining and mentally stimulating. tongue.gif

That was because I only skimmed the 15 page thread due to the fact that it was some God forsaken early AM time when NO man should ever be awake. Actually, I may have been "Sleep Posting".

I also noticed that I had Pie last nite as well.

I did not find the power generation methods in the 2 videos to be dissimilar in any way.

If you are looking to bait Mo, why not ask him why, in every video i have seen, he wears his pants so high. This would represent the only legit criticism i have seen.
