These are the scourges of humanity, open and festering in every corner of the planet, although they are often ignored and sometimes deliberately concealed, wounds that torture the souls and bodies of countless of our brothers and sisters.

Huh, I like this Pope. he actually does speak out against evil, he does stand up for life.

Can't ask for much more from a religious leader...

Ah. Obersturmführer Ratzinger! He was just poured into that uniform!

From Wikipedia
QUOTE
Following his fourteenth birthday in 1941, Ratzinger was enrolled in the Hitler Youth — membership being legally required after December 1939[5] (though 10-20% did disobey the rule[6]) — but was an unenthusiastic member and refused to attend meetings.[7] His father was a bitter enemy of Nazism, believing it conflicted with the Catholic faith.[citation needed] In 1941, one of Ratzinger's cousins, a 14-year-old boy with Down syndrome, was killed by the Nazi regime in its campaign of eugenics.[citation needed] In 1943 while still in seminary, he was drafted at age 16 into the German anti-aircraft corps. Ratzinger then trained in the German infantry, but a subsequent illness precluded him from the usual rigours of military duty.

Two funny things:

1) my friend Noah put on a hip hop show where part of his crowd hyping was chanting "the pope is satan! the pope is satan!" lol
2)I have this cd at home of an old punk band named rudimentary peni that was recorded sometime around when the singer was put in a mental assylum because he believed he was the pope. Every song on the album is about the pope and the entire background of the album is a looped recording of someone saying "papus adrianus, papus Adrianus". The first song on the album is called pogo pope. The whole lyrics to the song are pogo pope pogo pope pogo pope pogo etc.... He also sings a song where he's like "its such a shame, the pope with no name, she doesn't know what she's called. Delusions of grandeur she must be mad" etc....
Pretty good album.
