Just to clarify, I don't know about anyones personal disputes with LSY. Whoever you are thinking of who was trashing him probably actually has some baggage with him. I don't know anything about that.

By all respects, Mr. Liang sounds like a very nice person and very skilled martial artist; I have never heard anyone having personal disputes with him.
Some people may have problems with his teaching of contemporary wushu (alongside his more traditional offerings), or the class setup (short "courses" I think? Seems to have been influenced by Yang Junmin), I suppose. But... it's a living.

Everything I have seen of him is good (even though, yes, he teaches Wooshoo alongside TCMA).
The only issue I can think of is that he (IIRC) claims to teach a bagua that predates Dong. And as that is a lineage issue, I really couldn't give a half a pound of flying dog egg.
